Are Clevo laptops upgradeable?

I was just wondering whether or not a DIY[do it yourself] graphic card upgrade is possible on the Sager/Clevo as I am really interested in upgrading my laptop even more in the future. Some laptops have their graphic cards integrated/soldered onto their motherboards so would this be the case on sager/clevo laptops?? if not, would it be easy to replace??

Hopefully someone can shed some light about this topic as it will help me greatly!! Thanks!!

Perhaps. Perhaps not. While you will physically be able to seat an MxM card in the version in your laptop, there are a lot of variables at play [like VBIOS and iGPU mentioned by Mr MM and w00pw0p]. But there are also additional issues like your LCD, cooling system, etc.

Here's one place to read up on these issues for some Sager/Clevo models:

Also, the Sager/Clevo power and cooling systems are designed with the MxM cards rated for a certain TDP wattage. For example, if the mobo was designed for a card with 75watts TDP, and you put in a newly designed pushes 100watts TDP, you may be damaging other mobo components due to the higher power requirements/ heat dissipation. See Sager's post regarding this- //forum.notebookreview.com/sag...tes-clevo-hm-model-series-53.html#post8608602

Also, may want to peruse through this thread for additional GPU "Upgradability" issues- //forum.notebookreview.com/sag...rade-compatibility-thread-testers-wanted.html

Or post to the Clevo/Sager forum if you have something more specific.

Finally, in regards to the Online Petition mentioned by w00pw0p, you can follow the entire event of how things unfolded here - //forum.notebookreview.com/sag...ition-bios-updates-clevo-hm-model-series.html
