How to stop iTunes from opening when downloading music

Heres how to stop Apple Music from downloading songs added to your library.

Change your settings on iPhone or iPad

Making this change is a quick one on your iPad or iPad. Just open your Settings and do the following.

1] Scroll down to and select Music.

2] Under Downloads, move the slider to turn off Automatic Downloads.

3] Tap the Settings arrow on the top left to go back or simply close the app.

Change your settings on Mac

To change this setting on your Mac, open the Music app and then follow these steps.

1] Click Music from the menu bar and select Preferences.

2] Select the General tab.

3] Uncheck Automatic Downloads.
