LordTrinen 9 years ago 1OK! Finally trying Mod Organizer. Got a problem and I think I missed an explanation in a tutorial somewhere. I'm loading up a handful of mods to start with. A couple are causing a window to pop up that says "no game data on top level" at the bottom. What does this mean? Am I missing a file for these mods? I didn't think so. Some of these mods either don't have much in the menus you can expand or a lot so if I'm supposed to be reorganizing stuff I really don't know where to begin. Help? 1shadetail1 9 years ago 2It's a problem with how the mod author(s) set up the files when they create the mod directory. What you do is, in that pop-up window you right-click on the directory where all the mod files are held, and select that as the top-level data folder. You can also drag-and-drop files into what you choose as the data folder, if the mod author made a particularly weird directory structure in the mod package. I strongly recommend Gopher's video list about Mod Organizer for a solid tutorial on working with it. I would link you directly to the playlist, but gamefaqs' incredibly stupid scripting thinks the URL of the playlist has a forbidden word in it and refuses to let me post it. So go here: https://www.youtube.com/user/GophersVids/playlists ...and scroll down to the playlist titled "Mod Organizer". It should be on the sixth row down. "Why are you always smiling?" "'Cause it's all so f***in' hysterical." LordTrinen (Topic Creator)9 years ago 4Thank you. This advice did help. Now I have a new issue that I'm not sure if it's related to MO or the mods I'm installing. Before I officially begin playing I'm tinkering around with stuff to make sure everything is working and looks right. I've noticed two odd things thus far. First, the tails of Khajiit and Argonians are sticking straight out behind them. They aren't flopping around like they should. Second, when I was using NMM I used mods to replace character textures. I have different sets for males and females. The male ones seem to be working fine. The female ones don't look anything like they did before. I've installed CBBE and Nude Females but the textures look very poor. Before everything looked very sleek. Now they don't. I really don't know how much help anyone can be with that second issue here on this site but if someone could help with the first at least I'd appreciate it. Taiolu 9 years ago 5LordTrinen posted... You don't have all the files for hdt tails. I had that exact thing. You need the xml file for it. HDT Tails is really fidgety though, and I suggest against it. Remember to just run fnis though MO, select add executable and go to your MO Folder/Mods/FNIS/Tools/ and add the EXE, LordTrinen posted... The male ones seem to be working fine. Drag your female textures lower on your install order. This is the main perk of MO, not needing to reinstall over a conflict. Now all we need is some penis. -Vallix LordTrinen (Topic Creator)9 years ago 6I didn't think I had HDT Tails installed. I didn't think any of the mods I have installed influence their tails. And I have run FNIS. Many times. Where do I get this EXE to put in the folder? By install order, do you mean the window on the left? So I just drag those two mods lower onto the list? Or just one? Zague77 9 years ago 7Yes, I think install order refers to the Priorities list on the left. If you want something to have high priority, have it low down on that list. As for the problem, I had the same thing a while ago having never used HDT Tails. It took a bit of thinking about to remember what I did, but the solution for me was to delete the folder /meshes/auxbones. In the right pane go to the Data tab and expand it down until you can see if you've got that folder. That tab lets you view your virtual data folder, and shows which mod each part of it comes from. If you've got the /meshes/auxbones folder it might well be from FNIS. I think I'd installed some animations and then got rid of them, but they left files behind in my installed FNIS mod after running Generate FNIS For Users, even after deleting the generated files and re-running FNIS without those animations. I deleted the auxbones folder and tails were no longer stiff. (Just in case, if you have the folder make a copy of it first, or rename it instead of deleting. If it doesn't fix the problem, or makes something worse, you can then paste it back in or return the name so it applies.) Hope that does it. "Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit drinking..." Zague77 9 years ago 8Just to add to my above post (also posted in the other topic): the folder is more specifically /meshes/auxbones/tail. If you have that, something in there may well be the problem. What does no valid game data mean?it means that the game data integrity has been compromised (you may be trying to load a save game file from a non-official source). The game works normally if it is downloaded from one of the official app stores.
