2. Listen and number.

• Tell pupils that they are going to listen and number the pictures in the order they hear them.
• Give them a few seconds to look at the pictures. Check comprehension.
• Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen. Play it again for them to number the pictures.
• Get pupils to compare their answers before checking as a class.

       1. Linda:    What’s the matter with you?

           Mary:     I have a toothache.

           Linda:    Poor you. You should go to the doctor. And you shouldn’t eat sweets.

           Mary:    I know, you’re right.

        2. Linda:     What do you often do in your free time?

           Phong:    I often go skating in the park.

           Linda:     Really?

          Phong:    Yes, because skating is my favourite sport.

        3. Linda:    What do you want to do now?

            Nam:     I want to make a paper plane.

            Linda:    Why?

            Nam:    Because I like planes and I’d like to be a pilot when I grow up.

           4. Linda:    Where are you going?

              Quan:     I’m going to the park. I’m going to ride my bike with my friends there.

              Linda:     Don’t ride your bike too fast!  It’s dangerous.
