Tổng quan về cụm từ “As a result”
Chắc hẳn bạn vẫn còn nhớ chúng ta có một cấu trúc trong tiếng Anh mang ý nghĩa vì vậy/ cho nên/ do đó:
Therefore, S + V….
E.g.:
- I told a lie. Therefore, I have lost my faith in everyone. [Tôi đã nói dối, do đó mọi người đã mất niềm tin ở tôi].
- Ants work very hard in spring, summer, and autumn. Therefore, they don’t go hungry in winter. [Con kiến làm việc rất chăm chỉ vào mùa xuân, hạ và thu, do đó khi mùa đông đến nó không đói].
- I wasted money. Therefore, I live very hard at the end of this month. [Tôi đã tiêu tiền một cách phung phí. Vì vậy trong cuối tháng này tôi sống rất vất vả].
Bạn có thể hiểu cụm từ “As a result” cũng mang ý nghĩa như “Therefore” ở trên. “As a result” có thể dịch hiểu theo nghĩa là Kết quả là/ Do đó/ Vì vậy. Ta có cấu trúc như sau:

E.g.:
- This cake has a soft, moist texture and the aroma of blueberries. As a result, you will have a relaxing feeling when tasting it. [Chiếc bánh này có phần bánh mềm, ẩm và mùi thơm của quả việt quất. Do đó khi thưởng thức nó bạn sẽ cảm thấy rất thư giãn];
- You cheated in examination time and got caught by the teacher. As a result, you will be punished respectively. [Bạn đã gian lận trong giờ kiểm tra và bị giáo viên bắt. Do vậy, bạn sẽ nhận mức phạt thích đáng];
- I didn’t cherish my mother’s love. As a result, I feel sorry about that when she passed away. [Tôi đã không trân trọng tình yêu thương của mẹ. Vì vậy, khi bà ấy mất, tôi cảm thấy rất hối tiếc].
Tổng quan về cụm từ “As a result of”
Để dễ hình dung hơn, Vietop gợi ý bạn hãy liên tưởng đến cấu trúc “Because of” trước khi tiếp cận phần kiến thức này. Trong tiếng Anh, ta có “Because of” mang nghĩa là bởi vì và có cấu trúc như sau:
Because of + Noun phrase [cụm danh từ/ Noun [danh từ]/ V_ing, S + V….
E.g.:
- Because of your lousy skill, the company doesn’t choose you to fill their vacancy. [Bởi vì kỹ năng của bạn quá kém, công ty không chọn bạn để lắp vào vị trí còn trống];
- Because of my procrastination, I loosed many chances to have a good job. [Bởi vì tính trì hoãn, tôi đã đánh mất nhiều cơ hội để có công việc tốt];
- Because of often having butterflies in my stomach, my mind isn’t always stable. [Bởi vì thường xuyên cảm thấy lo lắng, tâm trí của tôi lúc nào cũng không ổn định được].
Cũng giống như “Because of”, nếu bạn không muốn bài nói hay bài viết của mình lặp từ quá nhiều có thể dùng “As a result of” để thay thế [cũng mang nghĩa là bởi vì]. Ta có cấu trúc như sau:
As a result of + Noun phrase [cụm danh từ]/ Noun [danh từ]/ V_ing…, S + V
E.g.:
- As a result of having too much homework, I cannot deal with all of it on time. [Vì có quá nhiều bài tập, tôi không thể giải quyết hết chúng theo đúng hạn];
- As a result of often being late to work. The boss fired me. [Vì thường xuyên đi trễ, sếp đã cho tôi nghỉ việc];
- As a result of the too long delay of flight, many passengers are very angry with the airline. [Vì chuyến bay bị hoãn quá lâu, nhiều khách hàng rất tức giận với hãng bay].
