Lỗi turn on screen reader trên blackberry passport

I must have fat fingered something on my phone because currently it has a black screen that I can't seem to get to come back on at this time. Also, I keep getting audio cues about Screen Reader.

I can turn the device off and on but I don't get the usual visual cues of the phone's OS booting or the Blackberry splash screen. During the boot up I see the keyboard light up and turn off multiple times as well.

During boot up I get a three note chime and a prompt about turning on screen reader ["double tab with two fingers" or "cancel"].

Not really sure what to do here and would appreciate assistance

Device: AT&T Blackberry Passport running 10.3

  • 583 Have you tried a hard reset, by holding down the vol up & vol down keys simultaneously? Unfortunately, this is exactly what happened with my Z30 when the screen died. Posted via CB10 07-31-17 09:28 AM
  • 420 In this order, try: Hard reset, Autoloader, Screen replacement, Sell on eBay as 'untested' 08-01-17 03:05 AM
  • 2 I have held down the power button and up and down volume buttons at the same time for ten seconds when my Passport won't reboot and it works for me! Hi bencuri. I appreciate your quick reaction and support. Unfortunately, because of unknown reason I am not able to get to skip option. I couldn’t upload video directly here. Down below will be a link of the video. Today only I was able to get to the point when it said “Skip not available”. Listen to the video. I appreciate if anybody could help me. I love Q10. I used to use Bold 9900. But after end of BIS [BlackBerry Internet Service], I am not able to get emails. //drive.google.com/file/d/1j33...ew?usp=sharing 03-04-22 03:09 AM

It is in the share panel. And after you set it like that, send the new link here. Check this new guide update as well that somebody has just posted at the bottom of the page: 03-04-22 12:57 PM
  • 7 Hi bencuri. Thanks. I have just tried another method you posted. Did not work. Here is the link to my video. I think the issue on my Q10 is that the device has not been setup before and I even did not use Autoloader. Could this be an issue? Should I use Autoloader to reload the OS? //drive.google.com/file/d/1j33...ew?usp=sharing 03-05-22 01:56 AM
  • 6 Hi, I have a p`9983 pass the wifi screen with the above procedure, but on the next screen the OK button brings me back to wifi screen. Any help appreciate. Thx Attached Thumbnails

Maybe it will change something in the setup. I have checked the video, and you are doing it correctly, activate the reader on the wifi screen, and then keep on double tapping and wiping left. That is the original method that was posted. But try doing it longer, maybe at a point it will jump to the BBID popup. Can you close the initial setup uncompleded, by the way? Minimize and close? Is it possible on your phone? 03-05-22 05:41 AM

Then you'll need to tap the skip button once, and then double tap it after you hear it read out "skip button". It should start reading out BBID stuff, when it says "skip" double tap under the blue bar by the word "connect". 03-05-22 06:37 AM

But maybe he found the reason and his phone has an earlier version of the OS. Let's see what happens when he tries the autoloader. 03-05-22 07:08 AM
  • 7 I tried lot’s of different methods. Activating on Wi-Fi, cellular network, and even the method you sent me on the last comment [restarting Q10 pushing + - volume buttons]. Nothing worked. I found another person in YouTube. He has the same issue, too. This is very strange. The issue is with my Q10 ist that I tried Autoloader. But Autoloader does connect to the phone. 03-05-22 07:21 AM

Download the latest one and that is suitable for your phone. It has a thread in this forum, you can ask about it there. First solve that problem. Once done, try the method that Ben posted in the first post. I have noticed in your video, that when you activate the screen reader and jump to the WiFi page, you start tapping the screen too soon. When you arrive to that page, you should wait longer, like 30 seconds at least, sometimes the BBID stuff is read out slowly. So be patient there. If it doesn't work, try the alternative methods only after that. 03-05-22 12:12 PM

Did you hold Power off button at the top for 10sec to run Autoload? 03-05-22 10:17 PM
  • 225 I have just found this video where the user is also doing it differently than Ben described, probably because the BBID popup does not appear on his phone either. It claims a hidden Next button is on the WiFi screen [or maybe Skip button] that needs to be found. The odd is that the moment he finds it is not included. But it may help: 03-06-22 02:00 AM

  • 2 Confirmed working on a BlackBerry Leap that was recently wiped and stuck in setup on the wifi screen. Working fine so far. Why do they want to make otherwise functional devices useless? Old phones we can repurpose or give to charity, many people in the world have no phones and a wifi device is better than just scrap. Wasteful and unnecessary. 03-13-22 11:52 PM

Wasteful and unnecessary. Because BlackBerry Ltd. has lost billions on BB10, and doesn't want to keep losing money by keeping servers going. The cost of reworking BB10 to allow for a smooth transition away from their servers, was much more than they wanted to spend. Wasteful and unnecessary was buying a phone from a company near going out of business and doing most everything in their power to get out of the phone business. In the end, things turned out a LOT better than they could have. 03-14-22 02:44 PM

  • 3 Hey can anyone help me? I bought a Z10 at a garage sale and tried to bypass the wifi screen with the currently known method. But anti-theft was enabled and now it won't say anything about skipping and bbid. 03-15-22 11:30 AM

  • 3 I did but it still would not say anything about skipping. I waited about half an hour and it still would not. I say something that said press the previous button then keep swiping the screen until it says skip. But when I did it it said "Login required. The anti-theft protection feature is on. To continue with device setup you must enter your Blackberry ID" 03-15-22 11:56 AM
  • 3 I did follow the instructions and it still wouldn't say anything. I also found something that said that you turn on the screen reader then go to wifi press previous once then keep swiping the screen and all it said was that anti theft was enabled and I needed to sign into the previous bbid 03-15-22 12:56 PM
  • 3 Hello guys, I am a new member to this forum but I followed some posts in the last 2 months. I was happy when you all discovered the new method to complete the wifi setup and made all BBOS 10 Devices usable again. I also did the screen reader "hack" to complete the setup on 2 BB Classics and a BB Passport Silver Edition which I all purchased this year after the BB shutdown. Now I am happy to tell you that I am the new owner of a BB P'9983 Porsche Design [basically the Q10], but unfortunately the previous owner had the anti theft protection enabled and now when I try to do the screen reader "hack" my device tells me, that I need to sign in with the BB ID because of the anti theft protection. So my question after this long story is: Is there a way to complete the setup anyways? Because how should I sign in with the BB ID if the servers ar shut down? Or do you know a way to remove that anti theft protection? I tried flashing with the Autoloader from the Q10 because I read that both phones have the same Autoloader, but I still got the same problem.
