Are my uses of "lose one' argument" appropriate/common? If not, what do you suggest?
a. I'm sorry, Dad. I know I lost my argument when I shouted and made threats to them. I should've kept calm.
b. Anna, remember: don't lose your argument. Under no circumstances, should you resort to violence.
My definition of "lose one's argument'': to do something [to shout, to attack, to threaten, etc] that makes you automatically be considered wrong in an argument.
