You currently have a newer version of Splashtop Streamer installed

I was just given the advice to change to this plan for better user management controls in splashtop...

//www.splashtop.com/remote-support

so here's what i see with that...

Barely update some of the management that has been requested by those who came over from LMI

then Jack up the prices to fall into similar category as LMI.

Interesting...

what does splashtop think the Business version was for?  - remote access? Business version?

nope it was 90% for remote support always on and easy quick access from desktop / mobile devices.
yes there were a few users just accessing their business systems...

but many came from LMI / Others due to pricing issues.

--------------

added a few management and deployment features and whammo we can change the price structure.

sound familiar?

So the question - How long until the Business/Enterprise Product is Abandoned for the "Remote-Support" version and we're all Forced into the new pricing model?

Figure I'll ask the question in public so its all seen visibly...

--------------

--------------

so for a bit of History -

Those who moved from LMI early on were given $60 for unlimited machines - ST has honored this and kept us at Unlim for those systems, even though within months of users migrating they changed to a new tiered structure.

still very affordable and reasonable 3 users - Unlim $180 a year

--- Recently - not sure when Business for Remote Support was introduced - and basically jumps into LMI first pricing model change - 1-50 - 199 a year

Looks / Sounds very familiar.

-------

as admins we've put up with the inability to update the clients remotely / hide the icon
all didn't come into play until 3.1.0.1 for those two items.

[I have clients I don't connect to that get temp bans due to not being current but I don't have the access to them as often as needed so I'm not going to update those systems until I have a need to.]

Migrate to the remote-support.....

yes when I migrated from LMI I THOUGHT THIS WAS "BUSINESS REMOTE SUPPORT" - it was the only tool available!

Hello,

It looks like SyncroMSP needs to do the BYO install.

Installing our BYO evidently creates a conflict.

I uninstalled Splashtop, then went to the policy an un-selected BYO and SyncroRMM.

After a few minutes I re-checked both versions. 10 minutes later, both are installed and working correctly.

Thank you, this appears to be resolved, however as I said, things were seemingly flawless until I uploaded the new BYO Splashtop agent, then all this uninstall – reinstall without the assigned group started occurring.
