Are the evaluative criteria that are related to the actual choice that is made?

An example of this would be Cal Poly students deciding on what and where to eat. Some of the attributes they would think of would be the convenience on where to eat. For example picking a place to eat on campus because it would be more convenient. Also price may play a role in the student’s decision. They may not want to spend too much money to eat so they may decide on a fast food place because it is a cheaper alternative than a high end restaurant.

What are evaluative criteria and on what characteristics can they vary?

Evaluative criteria are the various dimensions, features, or benefits a consumer looks for in response to a problem. They can vary in terms of type (objectively specified vs. subjectively), number (normally less than six are used), and importance (usually one or two are much more important to a consumer).
