FIRST Robotics Competition is the highest level of FIRST and high-school student participants call it “the hardest fun you’ll ever have.” Under strict rules, limited time and resources, teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. The leadership of GeorgiaFIRST Robotics and FIRST South Carolina The newly defined Peachtree District territory will now include all FIRST Robotics Competition teams in both Georgia and South Carolina, beginning with the 2023 season. FIRST Robotics Competition teams in both states will have the opportunity to compete at multiple qualifier events throughout the Peachtree territory, leading to the District Championship. As we continue to work toward our strategic goal of access to quality STEM programing through FIRST, this partnership allows both states to serve our youth at the highest level with a growth model for years to come. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Each team develops a brand, raises funds to meet its goals, and works to promote STEM in the local community. Project-based, hands-on FIRST® programs introduce students to engineering and coding in an engaging, inclusive, and creative after-school or in-class learning environment where students work collaboratively to solve an annual robotics challenge centered around a yearly theme. What is FTC and FRC?The FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) and the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) are two national robotics competitions operated by US FIRST in which teams of high school-aged youth design and build robots that compete with other teams to complete a set of prescribed tasks.
Who Won First Robotics 2022?With 30,000+ attendees across all programs, it was a heck of a party. Congratulations to the FIRST Robotics Competition Chairman's Award Winner, Team 1629, Garrett Coalition (GaCo), Accident, MD, USA! This amazing team has been around for 18 years and participated in 54 official events.
How long is the FRC build season?Teams are formed in the fall. The annual FIRST Robotics Competition Kickoff in early January starts the six-week “build” season.
