Kia Telluride 2023 News
Two new sport trims arrived with the 2023 Kia Telluride. Kia

The three-row Kia Telluride SUV announced new pricing and trim levels for 2023.

The U.S.-made SUV increased pricing across all trims, starting with the base LX. It has jumped from $33,390 to $35,690. The top SX-Prestige package starts at $50,390. But the top EX, SX, and Prestige models now have two more trim options: X-Line AWD and X-Pro AWD.

The top-of-the-line X-Pro on the Prestige comes out to $52,785—not including destination fees. The mid-tier EX with the X-Line trim is $45,458. The Telluride is often compared to the Hyundai Palisade, which starts higher.

The Pro trims offer all-wheel drive and better light off-road capability. The interior at this level is refreshed with a redesigned dash and center console with dual 12.3-inch panoramic screens with mapping. The trim level includes a standard Wi-Fi hotspot and advanced-driving assistance on the highway. The SUV was new for 2020 and not much has changed aesthetically beyond a logo redesign since its initial release.

The newest Telluride will be at Kia dealerships throughout October.

The highly sought-after three-row crossover is revised for 2023, and so is its MSRP.

The Kia Telluride's success story hardly needs repeating. The SUV shook up the midsize three-row segment in 2019, delivering style, quality, roominess, and general appeal unmatched by any other SUV in its highly competitive segment. It immediately won MotorTrend's 2020 SUV of the Year award and garnered praise from across the industry. Undergirding these warm 'n fuzzies was the Telluride's price tag, which hovered in the mid-$30,000 range to start; even fully loaded examples didn't crest $50,000. It's no wonder buyers have snapped up every single Telluride Kia has been able to make. Now, for 2023, the Telluride has undergone a mild revision, and while it still carries tons of value, there's no sugarcoating things: The price goes up.

Kia also has concentrated that price increase on the entry-level Telluride LX, which sees a $2,300 bump to $37,025 to start. As before, all-wheel drive adds another $2,000 to the ask. The rest of the lineup sees a smorgasbord of price changes; the Telluride S's price goes up by $1,700, the mid-level EX's cost rises by a steeper $2,900, and the SX's MSRP jumps $2,200.

Of course, this year also marks the addition of off-road-themed X-Line and X-Line Pro trim levels, which are appended to the 2023 Telluride's EX, SX, and new SX Prestige trims. On the Telluride EX, the X-Line treatment runs $4,195 (above the front-drive model, and that includes the optional $2,000 all-wheel-drive system). Telluride SX customers can choose between the X-Line or more involved X-Line Pro, for upcharges of $3,395 and $4,395 respectively over the price of a front-driver; again, those figures include the required $2,000 AWD system. Finally, the range-topping Telluride SX Prestige, which starts at $51,725—yep, the Telly finally breaches the fifty grand mark—comes with AWD standard, meaning the X-Line package adds just $1,395, while the X-Line Pro goods tack on $2,395.

X Marks the Line

Curious what the X-Line and X-Line Pro deliver? To each of the aforementioned trim levels—EX, SX, and SX Prestige—the X-Line bolts on 20-inch wheels, X-Line badges, a 11o-volt household power outlet in the cargo area, special front and rear bumpers said to improve off-road clearance, a 0.4-inch suspension lift, recalibrated traction control, and an additional 500 pounds of towing capacity (for a total of 5,500 pounds). Step up to the X-Line Pro on the SX variants, and you also get all-terrain tires mounted on black-painted 18-inch wheels.

Every Telluride is powered by the same 291-hp 3.8-liter V-6 and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Key upgrades and newly available options for 2023 include a new pair of 12.3-inch displays that stretch from ahead of the driver to the center of the dashboard, a phone-as-key feature, a standard WiFi hotspot, and Kia's Highway Drive Assist 2 advanced driver assist with lane-centering and adaptive cruise control (plus automated lane changes). One key deletion? The Telluride's signature amber-colored LED headlight surrounds, which are gone for 2023. Details about which trim levels get which features are forthcoming, but for now, here is the 2023 Telluride's pricing, which by and large lines up with the segment's big hitters such as the (also revised) Toyota Highlander and the soon-to-be-replaced Honda Pilot.

Does 2023 Kia Telluride have wireless Apple CarPlay?

There's just one catch to it: no wireless connectivity for Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. It's a bit perturbing that Kia's infotainment systems with the smaller 8-inch screen get this functionality, while this "upgrade" locks you out of that feature.

Is Kia coming out with new Telluride?

The 2023 Kia Telluride is loaded with updates. It will offer redesigned exterior elements like new wheels and headlights, new color options, new interior benefits like dual 12.3-inch digital displays, new trims like the off-road-oriented X-Pro, and an increased towing capacity.

Does the Kia Telluride hold its resale value?

Predicted Resale Value after 5 Years of Ownership: 47.0% This family-friendly SUV earned the Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Award both this year and in 2020, when the Telluride debuted. Its successful momentum continues as it now gets the crown for having the best resale value among 3-row midsize SUVs.

Why is there a shortage of Kia Telluride?

High demand, coupled with the global semiconductor chip shortage, means it is almost impossible to find a new Kia Telluride. And if you can track one down, you'll have to pay well over the list price to get it.
