Berkeley hotel bangkok north tower review

Anyone stayed at this hotel before? Heard that it's new and apparently a 4 star hotel, but reviews on Tripadvisor aren't all that good.

Is a five star hotel But trip advisor review some not good, such as check in was very slow, security issues etc

Overall is very satisfy n good experience from my recent stay.

Just curious how you guys rate a hotel 3 / 4 / 5 star??

  • 6

The hotel rates itself as 5 star but it's nowhere near the same 5 star standard as say, Swissotel. So people say it's 4 star. Decor is better than 3 star but staff still quite inexperienced and not all are gd in English. For the non-five star price, I think it's alright. Of course, for people who expect to be pampered, this is probably not the right place. It's also a fair distance from the BTS.

Nv 100% trust trip advisor… just take is as a reference

good reviews on trip advisor but horrible services when stay. just my personal experience (not Berkeley hotel)

I will recommend KC Place nearby, not a big fancy hotel but good enough for a few days stay. Clean and near Airport link.

Just stayed 4 nights in north tower family room. Not new. Look like refurbished hotel.Dirty bathroom. Smelly toilet that is not cleaned daily. Towels not replaced promptly. Faulty rainshower. Bad housekeeping. 2 star max for me.

Berkeley Pratunam Hotel

Check in atabout 1545H. Approx 10 people in the queue when I arrived. There were about 6-7receptionist providing check in and 2 room changes from what I overheard. I cansee the staff expediting the process. Mine was over in 2 minutes total. My waitto check I was approx. 15 minutes. It could have been faster if not for somequeue cutting by some other guests.

I stayed inRm 12816 Main Building. There were 6 lifts. The speed of the lifts were a bit onthe slow side. Room was huge with 2 double beds. Room safe was locked when Iwent in. Called and manager took less than 5 min to address my problem. Slightflooding of the shower area due to the poor laying of tiles ie the water flowsaway from the drainage instead of towards. Otherwise ok Items replenish dailyand cleaned nicely. Bath tub was clean.

Breakfastselection was good enough. Not superb but pretty good. Replensihed frequentlyand area is huge with no sitting problems and items are changed during the day.Ie fried noodles became kway teow then been hoon etc. Plates were so frequentlycleared and staff always asked you if you want more coffee/tea and do you stillneed your plate before they clear. Service level is high in my opinion.

Forgot mycard and closed door. Got replacement in 2 minutes. Was told I have to return 3cards at check out. Otherwise 300 baht fine per card. This was told to mealready during check in. I think it is fair. Swimming pool on 11 floor. Nicepool. Great view for evenings and towels provided. Parents can even sit indoorsand order a drink in the comfort of sofa and watch their kids in air conwatching them thru a glass panel. Good design!

Bell boyswere fast and responsive. Also can leave baggage with them free of charge aftercheck out. Late check out was given till 1400H

Taxi is 500baht for small car and 700 baht for MPV. It is provided by a transport companyat the entrance of hotel and not by the hotel itself. If you want to savemoney, walk to the right to enter PALLADIUM SHOPPING CENTRE thru the hotel, then flag a cab on your own. Cost less than 300 baht for small cab with 75 bahttoll inclusive.

Wifi for myroom was fast and good.

Overall, not bad a hotel. Convenient location with night market just at entrance of hotel. There is one fat lady selling “SALT BAKED FISH”. Excellent!! Whole fish cost50/60 baht. Prices shown on the cart. Coconut whole 20 baht. Steamed corn superjuicy and nice 10 baht. Opposite road has a chicken rice stall, many localsthere with some famous Thai pictures hung on their stall. Strongly recommended.Take away ok too.
