Montblanc de la culture arts patronage award là gì năm 2024

Since 1992, Montblanc has recognised the work of outstanding patrons of the arts through its Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award. Chosen by a select group of internationally renowned artists, this year's Hong Kong recipient is Cissy Pao-Watari at The Ritz-Carlton in Hong Kong. She is responsible for cultivating the local art scene via multiple art programmes, exhibitions, and performances during her tenure as chairman of the Hong Kong Ballet Co. and as the honorary president of the Hong Kong Arts Centre. For her contributions towards the arts, she was awarded with a specially-crafted Montblanc Limited Edition Patron of Art 2012 “A Tribute to an Enlightened Promoter of Art, Joseph II” fountain pen and €15,000 donated to an arts programme of her choice. The prize was presented to her by Montblanc CEO Lutz Bethge and Lang Lang, who flew in for this special occasion. In addition, audiences were entertained by performances by soloist Wei Wei and principal of the Hong Kong Ballet, Jin Yao.

Other 2012 winners from 12 participating countries include: Chen Dong Sheng (China), Edouard Carmignac (France), Julia Stoschek (Germany), Cissy Pao-Watari (Hong Kong), Renzo Piano (Italy), Soichiro Fukutake (Japan), Chung Hee-Ja (Korea), César Cervantes (Mexico), Yevgeny Mironov (Russia), Leopoldo Rodés Castañé (Spain), Andrew Lloyd Webber (United Kingdom), and Quincy Jones (USA).

While there are many international awards celebrating the accomplishments of artists and performers, the Montblanc Culture Arts Patronage awards set themselves apart by singling out individuals who work ordinarily behind the scenes but promote the arts thanks to their unconditional support.

Created in 1992 by the Montblanc Cultural Foundation, these annual awards pay tribute to the extraordinary efforts of today’s patrons who work tirelessly and altruistically to extend the influence of culture and the arts.

This year, eleven patrons saw their names added to the prestigious list of previous laureates, including in particular the Prince of Wales, the British conductor Sir Simon Rattle, Italian architect Renzo Piano and Japanese artist Yoko Ono. Each winner was chosen from a shortlist of candidates by an international jury composed of prominent figures from the world of art.

The nominees in 2015 come from China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, and, for the first time, Switzerland. In each country, the winner is presented with one of eleven Patron of Arts writing instruments produced specially for the occasion in a limited edition in the studios of Artisan Montblanc, as well as the sum of 15,000 Euros to finance their cultural organisation or a project of their choice. To highlight support for the world of art, each year the writing instrument presented to laureates bears the name of an historic patron.

In 2015, the limited edition Montblanc Patron of Art Luciano Pavarotti is a homage to the iconic operatic figure who not only introduced opera to a wide audience but also proved himself to be a humanist and committed patron of the arts. Away from the spotlight, Luciano Pavarotti devoted considerable time to young, promising singers who were able to benefit from free singing lessons given by the master.

The award is presented during ceremonies organised all over the world, in the presence of previous laureates and members of the international jury. This year, the event took place at the Kunsthalle in Basel on 18 June. Since the creation of the Montblanc Culture Arts Patronage Awards, more than 3.3 million Euro have been distributed and more than 220 projects supported.

Together with Montblanc, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award with an event chock-full of art, culture and glamour. The award, which recognizes and supports the work of modern art patrons, is itinerant and is celebrated in 16 countries around the world. The recipient of the 2016 Award for Italy is philanthropist Giorgio Marconi, head of the Marconi Foundation of Modern and Contemporary Art. The honouree was presented with a limited edition fountain pen, and a donation in support of his cultural projects. Three were the locations chosen for the event: San Clemente Palace Kempinski Hotel on the Island of San Clemente, where we welcomed the international guests from all over the world; Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, once inhabited by the great patron of art Peggy Guggenheim for the cocktail party on the rooftop terrace overlooking the Grand Canal; and Palazzo Polignac for the exclusive seated dinner closing the event.

The organization work carried out with the Montblanc team was dynamic and efficient, as was the “call for action” for the coordination of services and organizational activities that we implemented together.

The relationship that we succeeded in creating with the client and the suppliers was effective and productive and this is the driving force of our actions and the wonderful feed back that we are rewarded with.
