This brushless GPS drone is designed for maximum portability and is reasonably priced for its included features. Find it here.

And here is its flight demonstration

C-Fly Dream Portable Brushless Travel Drone with Gimbal Flight Test Review (28 min 32 sec)

Pros - Small and lightweight (251 grams with battery), it's very portable. As C-Fly advertises, "Take your Dream to travel around the world". - 1080p camera with two axis stabilized gimbal. - Controller has built-in WiFi relay to provide long range digital FPV reception. - GPS/GLONASS satellite system to provide accurate positioning. - Optical flow system provides stable hover indoors. - Advanced flight modes of circle, follow me, and waypoints. - Long range 5G WiFi FPV via the built-in WiFi relay of its controller, and its C-Fly app available on Play here and iTunes here.

Cons - Uses 802.11ac 5G WiFi. Not all phones are capable of using this WiFi. First verify that your phone is indeed 802.11ac capable before purchasing. - 1080p camera could be better. Frame rate is only 24fps. White balance is also a bit off in sunny environment. - Low voltage auto return did not seem to perform as advertised. I was flying below 10% remaining battery power and manually landed to protect the battery. - Android version of C-Fly app still needs some fine tuning. App would freeze when I would attempt to stop video recording.

Looked very interesting at the start, circle and follow-me worked okay and one could perhaps live with 1080p 24fps, but the gimbal wasn't that reliable and there was a lot of vibration. As this is a rather small craft, there is no way you could try and improve on some of the issues with a bit of tinkering, like somehow adjusting the dampening to reduce that vibration. Camera-lens also exhibits quite the 'hot spot' with a normal central part of the image but getting progressively darker towards the edges and corners.

Just like it's bigger Mavic-imposter sibling the F803: similar looks don't make it the same as the example.

*edit: still now and again wonder how the Walkera Peri would have fared

Range testing of the controller's WiFi relay.

Not too shabby performance. Got close to 600 meters with the stock controller before the digital FPV signal became sketchy.

C-Fly. The same company that tried to clone the DJI Mavic Pro and fell short. They are back at it again with this C-Fly Dream "spark" clone. The features seem to work okay but the camera/gimbal is not right -- vibrations and jello. The camera quality also isn't the best either, but not the worst that I've seen.

This is $250 USD.

For $279 USD you can purchase a real DJI Spark refurbished with the standard DJI warranty. "But, John, it's refurbished, not new!"

If DJI were to ship you a refurbished Spark that had the gimbal issues this unit did, it would be considered defective and you could send it back. The level of product quality support that you are paying for with the real DJI Spark by spending $279 is nowhere -near- C-Fly's offering for $250.

"But, John, that doesn't come with a controller, the C-Fly Dream does!" -- Yep, that's true. A refurbished Spark controller will cost you another ~$88 from DJI. That will put you at $367 for refurb spark + controller. About $120 difference in price point to "obtain" (

) the real product vs this knock-off item. Which product at the end of the day, with the price point margin as it is, do you think you're getting a better deal dollar-for-dollar in the long run?

I think that if the C-Fly Dream was around $150 for the whole package, and the gimbal issues and vibrations were fixed, this would be an attractive budget option. Even if they weren't fixed and it stayed this way, people would prob still buy it. But at this price forget it.

Thanks for the look at the drones as always.

100% agree ....

Cfly's firm will collapse soon with two consecutive crap products ....

The RC Saylors tested it too:

C-Fly DREAM - Selfie Portable Camera Drone Under $300 2 Axis Gimbal - TheRcSaylors (21 min 39 sec)

IMO: if C-fly would have spend a little more on a slightly better (1080p30!) camera and get that gimbal up to speed (seems rather slow in reacting to yaw) they would have had a real winner.

Yeah, this is another thing to consider, and then what kind of support will be left for it?

It seems they still don't get it either that first impressions matter immensely even moreso when you're a new company. They screwed that up with the Obtain and are screwing it up with this one too. Another drone that basically belongs in the dumpster and a shameful attempt to copy DJI rather than trying to make something original.

Weight of the Dream

So close to that magical 250 grams number. With a little tweaking, I'm sure that C-Fly could shave off a couple grams.

I need some help, how do I get videos off the SD card? Every time I try to record it does so on my phone, and the video is of course horrible.

When I put the SDcard in my computer it is unreadable, and needs formatting. I format it, and then try to record again, ad then do it all again, and I see the space on the card fill up, and then again it says the card is unreadable

Do you remember to stop the video recording before turning off the drone? If you forget, the video file will be corrupted. But If you are remembering to stop the video, then the next thing to try is a different card. Recommend Class 10 card, but try one with less than 32Gb storagecapacity.

As t00nz843z already pointed out: are you sure you actually stopped the video recording before you shut down the quad? Doing so will often corrupt the video as it isn't finished the right way. So always stop your video recording before powering down your quad!

Is it possible to format your card in the quadcopter? Most apps will have an option to do so. BTW: what kinda card are you using? Some cameras can be very particular when it comes to cards (brand/speed) so if you can, try another one.

Another issues is that some drones do not like large 64GB cards. If using a large capacity card, try something smaller than 32GB.
