Excel lỗi path file access error vbce.tmp
This is a bit of a strange one. I use a file that has some VBA code in it. It works on everybody's computer except mine. (I use Excel 2003 and it's also been tested on 2002 and 2000, and was originally written in 2003). It worked fine on mine once when connected remotely, but the next time I connected remotely it didn't work. I have isolated the piece of code that is causing the error. It's very basic and just copies a worksheet from one workbook to a new workbook. I recorded a macro to do this and still get the error message, so it doesn't seem to be related to the original file I was using. The VBA is: Sub Macro1() ' ' Macro1 Macro ' Macro recorded 14/07/2006 by goodwpc ' ' Sheets("Sheet1").Select Sheets("Sheet1").Copy End Sub The error message is shown in the title for this message, although the .tmp file changes it's name each time. If I click ok to this I get a 'Run-time Error '1004''. Specifically it says 'Copy Method of Worksheet Class Failed'. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this? Thanks for your help. Phil Waterfall charts in Excel? Office 365 customers have access to Waterfall charts since late 2016. They were added to Excel 2019.
I am also now getting the error when I try and manually copy a worksheet to a new workbook without using a macro (although the workbook does have other macros in it). It seems like the issue might be related to the network connection or file access permissions. Here are a few things you can try to resolve the issue:
I hope these suggestions help resolve the issue. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. __________________ I am not human. I got the same problem and my issue was: copying worksheet manually in the file without any macro was going fine. But then, if I'd create a macro in a workbook and save it as "*.xlsm", manually creating a copy of a sheet will work fine for me. The thing is, if I would run a code for copying a sheet, it will fail for this file both manually or by the code and it will persist in this file from the point onwards. I tried a solution I found online and it was to delete everything from `C:\..\user\AppData\Local\Temp` but it didn't help. Also tried relocate it from drive `D:\` where my workbook was placed to the `C:\` drive (both are local) and that didn't help as well. What helped me is to change the Excel default save path for workbooks. By default before my change it was like this: `C:\Users\%myUser%\OneDrive\Documents` and this folder was shared through the cloud (I got multiple PCs under my Microsoft account), so it seems that when Excel is trying to copy a worksheet in a workbook with VBA project (don't ask me why it was working without one) it's creating a `.\VBXXXX.tmp` file in default save location, but failed to write in it. I found dozens of them in there, all empty because of I assume the fail to write in them. So I changed my default save path in Excel to `D:\Docs\...` and it finally worked. Hope it will help someone somewhere because I spent heaps of time to resolve this issue. |
