That includes a full timeline of Phase Four movies and shows leading to the middle of 2023, but little to no information about Phase Five or, more importantly, the next big superhero team-up movie we might as well call The Avengers 5. Among the films in Phase Four include Black Widow, The Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Thor: Love and Thunder. Additionally, there are over a dozen Disney+ series, including The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, What If…?, and Hawkeye. There’s even more on the horizon for the yet-to-be-announced Phase Five. But how will that lead into an all-encompassing conflict for the fifth Avengers movie? Here’s everything we can summarize about Avengers 5, who will be involved, and what a possible release date might be. When is The Avengers 5 release date?Avengers 5 doesn’t have a release date yet, but we think it’ll probably happen during Phase Five. So far, Marvel Studios has announced films all the way through May 5, 2023 (with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3). However, there are still three release dates that the MCU has booked without movies attached in 2023: July 28, October 6, and November 10. Given that previous Avengers films have been summer releases, it’s possible we could be seeing Avengers 5 on that July 28 date. WHAT’S THE AVENGERS 5 TITLE?We’re barely into Phase Four yet, so there’s no way to predict what exactly might happen in Avengers 5. Marvel Studios was secretive about the Avengers: Endgame title for a long time, so they’ll likely do the same to avoid early spoilers. We’ve got at least two full years before we know the title of Avengers 5. WHO IS RETURNING FOR THE AVENGERS 5 CAST?It’s hard to say which characters will return for Avengers 5, but we can make some logical guesses. Iron Man, Black Widow, Captain America, and Hawkeye are all dead or retired. Bruce Banner/Hulk is the only one who is still around. Even then, he’s permanently injured after using the Stark Infinity Gauntlet to resurrect everyone who died in the Decimation. Thor is currently off with the Guardians of the Galaxy, so that group could always make an appearance — but they’ll probably just return to the Andromeda Galaxy to do their own thing. Active earthbound heroes include Ant-Man, Wasp, Falcon (as the new Captain America), Winter Soldier, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, Shang-Chi, and Doctor Strange. Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, and Moon Knight will also join the MCU in upcoming Disney+ series, but it’s unclear how they’ll fit in with the Avengers. WILL THE YOUNG AVENGERS BE INVOLVED IN AVENGERS 5?As mentioned above, there’s a large question mark as to who the new Avengers will be exactly. But could it be possible that we won’t be getting New Avengers, but Young Avengers? In Phase Four, Marvel Studios has made an effort to introduce several characters who were part of the Young Avengers in the comics. WandaVisiondebuted young Billy and Tommy (a.k.a. Wiccan and Speed), though the characters were “killed off” in the finale. The Falcon and the Winter Soldierintroduced Eli Bradley, though without the super soldier powers to make him Patriot. Hawkeye will debut Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop, who will succeed Clint Barton. And Cassie Lang (who inherited her father’s power set and went by Stature in the comics) seems to be playing a larger role in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, to the point of being recast. Could all of these introductions mean some form of the Young Avengers will come together to take on a new threat in Avengers 5? And who will that new threat be? When people think of Marvel movies, they usually think about theMCU (unsurprising as it has now become the largest movie franchise ever and regularly dominates the international box office) - however, the MCU does not account for all of the many Marvel movies that will release in the next few years. Some rights to Marvel properties still lie with Sony Pictures Entertainment, and while they have an ongoing relationship with Marvel and Disney at this point, it is unclear exactly how their movies will tie into the MCU. New Marvel updates on movies from both studios are revealed almost weekly though. Below is all the confirmed news on big-screen Marvel release dates. The San Diego Comic-Con International 2022 was particularly notable for a host of new info from Marvel and Disney, including clarity on release dates for movies like the MCU Blade reboot and Captain America: New World Order. They also revealed that after Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the MCU Phase 5 officially begins. Kevin Feige has confirmed that the MCU is currently in The Multiverse Saga, with Kang the Conqueror as Phase 5's main antagonist. Both Marvel Studios and Sony are also now working with directors that bring distinctive tones and styles but allow them more creative control. This has led to a wider range of atmospheres in recent projects, and upcoming Marvel releases look set to replicate it. The cinematic superhero genre is proving itself to be constantly evolving, and Marvel movies are leading the charge. One of the most highly anticipated Marvel release dates, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever premieres on November 11, 2022. Ryan Coogler's Black Panther quickly became one of the highest-rated Marvel movies by fans. While its international gross wasn't on the same level as Avengers: Infinity War, there's no denying that it was an astounding critical and commercial success for Marvel Studios. It's no wonder that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been part of Marvel's MCU Phase 4 plans since as early as 2018, with Coogler being back in the director's chair. After Chadwick Boseman's tragic passing, there are no plans to recast T'Challa, and from the footage in trailers, it's clear that the character has likewise passed on in the MCU. The sequel is set to focus on other aspects of Wakandan culture in the MCU. Shuri, played by Letitia Wright, will play a central role, but while there will be a new Black Panther, their identity is still a secret. However, what has been confirmed is Black Panther: Wakanda Forever introduces Namor and the underwater kingdom of Talocan. Namor is a character Marvel Comics fans have wanted to see on the big screen for years, and the conflict between Talocan and Wakanda already looks to be an historic moment in the MCU. Out of all the Marvel release dates looming on the horizon, the fact that this movie will introduce both Namor and a new Black Panther means it's guaranteed that Wakanda Forever will be game-changing for the MCU. Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special - November 25, 2022
Just in time for Christmas season on Earth, the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Specialwill be released on the 25th of November 2022. While not exactly high on the list of Marvel release dates prioritized by most Marvel viewers, the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special trailer promises a fun breather sandwiched between drastic events brought on by the Multiverse Saga. When Kraglin (Sean Gunn) realizes that it's Christmas on Earth, Mantis (Pom Klementieff) and Drax (Dave Bautista) go on a quest of the kind no other main MCU character has embarked on before - trying to make Star-Lord (Christ Pratt) happy on Christmas since he's sad about Gamora (Zoe Saldana). The Holiday Special cast features Star-Lord/Peter Quill, Mantis, Drax, Kraglin, Rocket (Bradley Cooper), a slightly more mature Groot (Vin Diesel), Nebula (Karen Gilan), Cosmo the Spacedog (Maria Bakalova), and Kevin Bacon's MCU debut as himself, as the trailer reveals Drax and Mantis will attempt to kidnap Kevin Bacon as part of Star-Lord's Christmas surprise, which even from the brief amount of footage seen already looks hilarious. Kraven The Hunter - January 13, 2023 The next of the non-MCU upcoming Marvel release dates is the Kraven the Huntermovie. Following in the footsteps of Venom and Morbius, the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters will continue with another movie focusing on a Spider-Man villain. It's not been confirmed if Kraven will be part of Sony's anticipated Sinister Sixmovie. However, Kraven was an integral member of the villain team, so it looks likely. The idea for the solo movie was first broached in 2018. By 2020, it had a script written by Richard Wenk and then re-written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. Soon after, J.C. Chandor entered talks to direct the film. Little was heard about potential developments in the months that followed. Production then took a huge leap forward in May 2021, however, when Aaron Taylor-Johnson landed Kraven's titular role. Since then, plenty of teaser trailers and first-look footage clips have been released. Set for an early 2023 premiere, there have been questions about the film's potential place in Sony's Spider-Man universes and the wider MCU's multiverse, especially given Aaron Taylor-Johnson's previous MCU turn as Quicksilver/Pietro Maximoff. Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania - February 17, 2023
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniais coming out in 2023, and anticipation is already building for the long-awaited threequel. Following on from Ant-Man and The Wasp, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) were confirmed for a third outing. Among the most noteworthy Marvel updates from SDCC 2022 is that Ant-Man 3 is that it will be the first movie in the MCU's Phase 5. The duo will once again be joined by Michael Douglas' Hank Pym and Michelle Pfeiffer's Janet van Dyne. Despite being played by Emma Fuhrmann in Avengers: Endgame, Kathryn Newton will assume the character of Cassie Lang. Peyton Reed once again took on directorial duties, working from a script penned by Rick and Morty's Jeff Loveness. Even though filming wrapped in 2021, the film has an early 2023 release date – a symptom of pandemic-fueled scheduling changes. Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania should be worth the wait, though, as the shrinking superheroes will face their biggest challenge yet, with the iconic Marvel villain Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) making his big-screen debut, seen in the Ant-Man 3 trailer donning his comic book-accurate armor of metallic purple and green. Providing a longer look inside the Quantum Realm, the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailer also reveals the advanced city and huge army built by Kang the Conqueror. The broad strokes of the movie's plot have also been revealed. In an attempt to possibly contact or save other souls lost, Cassie Lang - whose new version made her onscreen debut in the trailer - builds a device to send a signal to the Quantum Realm, causing Cassie, Scott, Hope, Janet, and Hank to be sucked into the realm. In the end, the Ant-Man 3 trailer sees Kang offering Scott a deal, the details of which remain uncertain. Moreover, though the trailer doesn't show MODOK, who is confirmed to be a villain in the movie, it also featured the first onscreen look at Bill Murrays' MCU character. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 - May 5, 2023
Marvel updates regarding Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 have been shaky for years, as the movie's had a rocky road to production. Not least of these hiccups was director James Gunn's firing by Disney after offensive jokes he made on Twitter years earlier resurfaced. After both fans and colleagues came out fiercely in support of Gunn, the decision was made to rehire him – though not before he'd been snapped up by Warner Bros. to direct The Suicide Squad. Gunn moved swiftly from that to a Peacemaker TV spinoff. This and various other Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 delays meant that filming didn't start until 2021's final months. The Guardians 3 plot is under wraps but will provide a closer look at Rocket Raccoon's backstory and have Peter Quill dealing with a version of Gamora who doesn't remember him. However, the full cast is confirmed as returning following cameo appearances from the Guardians in Thor: Love and Thunder. Will Poulter will finally be bringing Adam Warlock to the screen after 2017's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 post-credits tease, and Chukwudi Iwuji will play the High Evolutionary, an interesting character from Marvel Comics. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse - June 2, 2023
The next upcoming Spider-Man movie is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, slated for release in 2023. This sequel to 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has taken longer than anticipated to surface. In addition to developing the story, it took several years to animate. Fans aren't too concerned Sony have taken their time though, especially with the visuals. The animation of Miles Morales' movie debut is partly why it became one of the most beloved superhero movies ever released. Shortly before Into the Spider-Verse hit theaters, Sony Pictures confirmed plans to produce a sequel. While story details are scarce, the trailers confirm that Gwen Stacy returns to Miles Morales's earth to rope him into another Spider-Verse-spanning adventure. This time, though, it's Miles who'll visit various alternate realities, and Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac) also looks set to play a key role. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse had initially webbed up a 2022 release date, but Sony has now pushed it back to the summer of 2023, which gives the animators enough time to ensure that the sequel lives up to the reputation of its original. Into the Spider-Verse 2 is already shaping up to be great, as it's also said to include Japanese Spider-Man. The Marvels - July 28, 2023
The Marvels is unusual among upcoming Marvel movies since it's a sequel to both an MCU movie and a Disney+ series (while also heavily featuring a character who became a powered hero in WandaVision). While not a hit quite as big as the likes of Avengers: Endgame, Captain Marvel's first adventure was still a massive success. As such, it's no surprise that Brie Larson's Carol Danvers is set to return for a sequel in the summer of 2023. Now officially retitled as The Marvels, the sequel will see Carol join forces with a now grown-up Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani). The latter made her debut in the Ms. Marvel Disney+ series. The Disney+ show laid a lot of groundwork for The Marvels, most notably with the Ms.Marvel post-credits scene which saw Carol and Kamala Khan swap places, with Carol emerging confused in Kamala's bedroom. Monica Rambeau debuted her powers in WandaVision, and an alternate version of her mother Maria was the Captain Marvel of Earth-838 in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Together, the trio will square off with Zawe Ashton's mystery villain. Nia DaCosta has signed on to direct, with WandaVision's Megan McDonnell officially penning the script. Marvel's intended release date calendar has always been long-term. The MCU Phases 4, 5, and 6 (now collectively dubbed "The Multiverse Saga") are no different. On top of this, Sony's multiple Spider-Man projects appear to be getting into full swing, too. There's a full roster of upcoming Marvel movies in 2024 and beyond that have confirmed release dates, and Phase 5 alone will continue well into 2024. In addition to this, the third film in Sony's animated Miles Morales Spider-Verse trilogy, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part Two), is currently also slated for a 2024 release. Here are all the Marvel movies that are scheduled to be released in 2024 and beyond. Madame Web - February 16th, 2024 Another non-MCU Marvel release is Madame Web. A part of Sony Pictures' Universe of Marvel Characters, Madame Web has been in development since 2019. Cassandra Webb, a mutant and an ally of Spider-Man, is a clairvoyant who is both blind and paralyzed, relying on a spider web-shaped life support system to survive. Sony rehired Morbius writers Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, which gives them a shot at redemption after the said Jared Leto movie flopped. S.J. Clarkson, who worked on Jessica Jones and The Defenders, is attached to direct, and Dakota Johnson has been confirmed as the titular Madame Web. Madame Web will be Sony Pictures' first Marvel property adaptation with a female lead. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part Two) - March 29, 2024
Part 3 of Sony's breakout Spider-Verse trilogy comes out in March 2024. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part Two) will follow on from the events of part one. If the trailers for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One)are anything to go by, it will likely involve Miles Morales continuing to traverse the Spider-Verse alongside Gwen Stacy. While it's an outlier possibility at this point, Marvel is releasing an animated Disney+ MCU Spider-Man prequel show, Spider-Man: Freshman Year. Since it was confirmed in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness that some realities are cartoons, there's a slim possibility Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part Two) could be a way that Miles and Gwen encounter Tom Holland's Peter Parker. Captain America: New World Order - May 3, 2024 Captain America: New World Order, which will see Sam Wilson taking up the mantle on the big screen, has been pegged for a May 3, 2024 release. The next Captain America movie will likely follow on from Falcon and the Winter Soldier, while also drawing on events from other projects in the interconnected MCU. Anthony Mackie will be reprising his role as Sam Wilson, and Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox) is on board to direct. Captain America: New World order is a historic step for Sam Wilson's character, as it will be his first solo movie as the MCU's new Cap. That said, perhaps the biggest headline regarding the fourth Captain America movie is that it will include Harrison Ford's MCU debut as General "Thunderbolt" Ross, replacing the beloved William Hurt who died in 2022 after playing the character since MCU Phase 1. Not much else has been revealed about "Thunderbolt" Ross' role in Captain America: New World Order, but the announcement of Indiana Jones/Han Solo himself picking up where William Hurt left off has rekindled rumors of Red Hulk finally making his MCU debut. Meanwhile, Captain America: New World Order development that has somewhat flown under the radar is the return of The Incredible Hulk's Samuel Sterns (Tim Blake Nelson). Samuel Sterns' becoming The Leader was teased back in MCU Phase, when Bruce Banner's (Edward Norton) blood drips onto Sterns' wounds and appears to give him the green skin tone and enlarged cranium synonymous with the character. Alongside Ross and MODOK, the comic-book Leader is part of the supervillain group Intelligencia, who are responsible for turning Ross into Red Hulk. With She-Hulk's version of Intelligencia taking a central role in the series, The Leader's return is exciting in its own right but also more evidence that Red Hulk is coming to the MCU. In fact, Captain America: New World Order is followed immediately by Thunderboltsin the MCU roster, and in Marvel Comics, General Ross as Red Hulk led one of the many iterations of the said antihero team. Thunderbolts - July 26, 2024 Thunderbolts, speculated by some to be the MCU's answer to Suicide Squad, will debut on July 26th, 2024. The Thunderbolts release date has been asked about online for a while, and Kevin Feige revealed it as part of the MCU SDCC 2022 panel, with the cast and character list for Thunderbolts being revealed later the same year at Disney's D23. Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) is a character that's been suspiciously recruiting others throughout Phase 4. As far as hints towards the roster of Marvel's Thunderbolts' go, Val's mysterious actions had the highest likelihood of being linked to Thunderbolts – and sure enough, the team that Val has been recruiting are indeed the MCU's own squad of antiheroes. Confirmed members are Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), U.S. Agent/John Walker (Wyatt Russell), Taskmaster/Antonia Dreykov (Olga Kurylenko), Red Guardian/Alexi Shostakov (David Harbour), and Ghost/Ava Starr (Hannah John-Kamen). Curiously, there's been no word on whether Baron Zemo (Daniel Brühl) will be in Thunderbolts, which is unusual because he founded the first version of the team in the comics back in 1997. Right now, in addition to Zemo, there's intense speculation on Harrison Ford's General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross joining the team and becoming the MCU Red Hulk in Phase 5. However, with Marvel's way of very loosely adapting elements from the source material, it's just as likely for confirmed Thunderbolts leader Valentina de Fontaine to become Red She-Hulk. In Marvel Comics, the Thunderbolts is the antihero counterpart of the Avengers, serving as a precursor to the Dark Avengers and the Dark Illuminati, with a roster of members that rivals even the Avengers lineup. Currently, the only thing that's for certain is that the announced cast is not the final Thunderbolts roster, and that reveals are being limited to avoid spoilers for upcoming projects. Blade - September 6, 2024
Originally slated for a 2023 release, the MCU Blade was delayed until 2024 after initial director Bassam Tariq stepped down and production halted. The Blade reboot has a script written by Stacy Osei-Kuffour, and the Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali is attached to play the vampiric/vampire-slaying titular hero. The MCU was dropping a lot of hints that Blade was not too far off after Easter eggs teased his existence in Loki, and Mahershala Ali's Blade was then confirmed to be the voice speaking to Kit Harrington's Dane Whitman/Black Knight in Eternals. There isn't much known about the MCU's Blade reboot beyond Wesley Snipes' absence and that the movie will narratively sit closely with The Eternals in the wider MCU canon, similar to the cosmic space-opera connection between Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy. It will also assuredly feature vampires since vampire slaying is Blade's thing. The original Blade starring Wesley Snipes has a huge following, many of whom aren't aware the movie was even based on a comic book. The 1998 Blade and its sequels aren't really superhero movies. They're action films with undead villains, closer to the Underworld or Resident Evil movies than anything predominantly featured by Marvel. It will be interesting to see both how a Blade movie works when it acknowledges that character's comic-book superhero origins and how fans of the original 1998 Blade film take to the character when he's seen alongside the likes of Spider-Man or Thor. Deadpool 3 - November 8, 2024
It's been confirmed by his new owners Disney that the next time Deadpool is allowed to star in his own movie, it'll be as part of the MCU. Deadpool 3has a release date of 11/08/22, and Ryan Reynolds will of course be reprising his role as the Merc With The Mouth. Not only that, Reynolds has also revealed that Hugh Jackman will be reprising his role as Wolverine/Logan for Deadpool 3, meaning the infamous Weapon-X survivors will finally arrive in the MCU, and both with their iconic fan-favorite Fox universe faces. Deadpool 3 is the first confirmed X-Men movie in development since Disney acquired Fox. Deadpool 3 being part of the MCU Phase 5 was something of a surprise for fans, many of who believed that seeing Wade reach the MCU so soon after the Disney/Fox merger was wishful thinking (never mind the internet-breaking Wolverine reveal). Deadpool 3 was originally announced as arriving in September of the same year but was pushed back alongside several other late Phase 5/Phase 6 projects, most likely due to production delays with Blade. Originally set to be the final 2024 MCU movie, Fantastic Fourhas been rescheduled for a February 2025 release. The Fantastic Four are among the most anticipated MCU additions, although it's not been confirmed whether John Krasinski will play the Earth-616 Reed Richards. It was announced by Kevin Feige at D23 that Matt Shakman has been signed on to direct, but there still weren't any cast details. Jon Watts had previously been on board to direct, but he exited production in 2022 (as first reported by Deadline). Despite high hopes that D23 would bring more tangible info about the reboot, there hasn't been any solid MCU Fantastic Four news since the release date reveal at SDCC 2022. Still, fans are already excited for Marvel's First Family to finally make their way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (and equally excited to see their nemesis, Dr. Doom), and without any details, it still has the potential to be a game-changing MCU entry. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty - May 2, 2025
The new Avengers movie release date is in 2025. Avengers: The Kang Dynastywill be the penultimate movie in Phase 6, and the culmination of the events throughout the multiverse saga. Like Infinity War before it, The Kang Dynasty will likely be the first half of a crossover event spanning two movies (the second half being Avengers: Secret Wars). Obviously very little is known about Avengers: The Kang Dynasty at this point, save that it will feature Kang the Conqueror as the MCU's Thanos replacement. It's more-or-less certain Jonathan Majors will be continuing to play the MCU Kang after first portraying one of his variants, He Who Remains, in season 1 of Loki. Avengers: Secret Wars - May 1, 2026
The second new Avengers movie release date is set for May 2026. Over a year after Fantastic Four, Avengers: Secret Warswill end phase six with a long-awaited multiverse-spanning movie that will undoubtedly surpass Endgame in scale. It will probably draw from both Secret Wars (1984) and Secret Wars (2015) to give the Secret Wars Battleworld concept its own unique spin. As expected, no news on the cast, but there are already plenty of safe and not-so-safe bets about who could show up in the MCU Secret Wars adaptation in 2026 when Avengers: Secret Wars is released. Venom 3 - Release Date TBD
After his brief MCU appearance did a huge disservice to his character, Venom fans have been itching to know when Sony can redeem themselves with the sequel to Venom: Let There Be Carnage. No release date for Venom 3has been announced, but development is confirmed to have started. Tom Hardy will of course be continuing to play Eddie Brock and the titular Symbiote, and there are a number of villains Sony could have the Lethal Protector face in Venom 3. While it looks like there's little chance for a Tom Hardy vs Tom Holland matchup, there's also no reason Sony couldn't make a rumored introduction of Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man to their on-screen Venom canon. New Tom Holland Spider-Man Trilogy - Release Date TBD While there were worries among fans that Spider-Man: No Way Home would be Tom Holland's last MCU solo movie, it's been confirmed that he's signed on with Disney and Marvel for a second trilogy. There are no details beyond this yet, and since it's not been announced as part of MCU's Multiverse Saga lineup it's likely to debut after 2025. However, Spider-Man: Homecoming was a late addition to the announced MCU projects thanks to having to hammer out details with Sony. It could be that the first new Tom-Holland Spider-Man 4 is due in Phase 5 or 6 as a late announcement. Intended as a spin-off from the original Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Spider-Women aims to be an all-female Spider-Man film. The movie will see Gwen Stacy's Spider-Gwen return at the forefront. There are plenty of other Spider-Women from Marvel Comics Sony can and will be drawing on though. The characters of Jessica Drew (a.k.a. Spider-Woman) and Cindy Moon (a.k.a. Silk) are also planned for the film. Bek Smith is attached to write the screenplay and there are reportedly ongoing talks to have Lauren Montgomery direct Spider-Women. First announced to be under consideration by Sony in 2018, Jackpot was revealed in 2020 to have been fully under development since that time. Marc Guggenheim, who worked on the original comic books as well as TV shows like Supergirl and Arrow and movies like Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters and Green Lantern, is working on the screenplay. Jackpot is a moniker used by two people in the Marvel Comics universe. First to use the title was Sara Ehret, who is given superpowers when exposed to a gene therapy experiment from an Oscorp subsidiary (sparking hopes of a Green Goblin future if this is the Jackpot the movie goes with). Later, Alana Jobson buys the title from Ehret and uses enhancement drugs to mimic her powers before becoming an ally of Spider-Man. If minor Marvel characters like Jackpot are getting their own movies, there really is no telling just where future projects inside and outside the MCU could go.
