Palmers cocoa firming butter reviews

Every time a new body firming product launch arrives on the scene, it has to match up to a certain bench mark. I optimistically try the product with the dream that a week or two later (sometimes I even give it up to a month) I may have Victoria Secret model worthy bum and legs. Well, while that is yet to happen (still hoping) I’m always pleasantly surprised that these creams actually do work mini miracles on my body, and the bench mark that I always compare them to? The first firming cream that I ever tried, and still my favourite to this day; the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Firming Butter is available in Boots & Superdrug instore and online and Amazon and Feel Unique from £4.99

I’ve always seen the Palmer’s product for stretch marks back in the day and I never really thought twice about it.

Also, for being so incredibly inexpensive at only $7.50 for a pretty big bottle, I really wasn’t expecting much.

But they pack quite a few nourishing ingredients in the formula and it gave me some noticeable results.

It’s super moisturizing and the longer I used it, the better my skin got.

It helped firm up my skin a bit and even out some bumpier textures.

The application is super easy and quick and it goes on like a typical lotion, which is a perk.

The formula is free of parabens and phthalates and is dermatologist tested.

One of my biggest issues with it was the smell.

It has a robust cocoa butter scent that smacks you in the face.

And unlucky for me, the smell sticks with you for hours.

It also didn’t gel well with my other scented products and it gave me a headache at times if I accidently wore something else with a scent.

But overall, I think this firming butter is a good option if you’re looking for an affordable firming lotion.

Detailed Opinion:

Texture/Feel

The Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Firming Butter has the consistency and feel of your typical lotion.

It comes out of the bottle feeling rich and creamy.

It’s on the thicker side of lotions, which makes it glide on the skin easier.

Application

The application process of this firming butter is a dream!

I’ve gone through hell and back applying some cellulite products.

So thank goodness this one is easy.

It has a pump dispenser on the bottle like a normal pump lotion and it makes the whole process quick and sanitary.

The directions say to massage all over your body twice daily – especially on your thighs, legs, stomach, and bust.

The lotion goes on easy and doesn’t take much effort to rub in.

Drying Time

This lotion dries super quick without any fuss.

It’s completely dry in about 3 – 4 minutes.

I love that you’re not really aware of it while it’s drying (like some other finicky cellulite products).

It dries well and you’re not left with a sticky residue or anything like that, which is a huge plus.

Smell (in the bottle)

The smell in the bottle is like if cocoa butter smacked you in the face.

It’s loud and proud!

Unfortunately, I don’t like the smell of it and it seemed overly powerful and artificial.

But it’s also just a personal preference.

I like more subtle scents.

This one is definitely in your face and very cocoa-y.

Smell (a few hours after application)

The cocoa butter smell is still very present and strong for about 1-2+ hours after application.

I still wasn’t a fan of the smell and felt like it lingered longer than it should have.

If you wear other perfumes or scented items, it may have a weird smell combo and give you a headache.

Short Term Results

I liked the short term results with this firming butter.

Right away my skin was noticeably softer.

The bottle claims this is a 24-hour moisturizer.

I wouldn’t say the moisture lasts for an entire 24-hour period, but it definitely gives some substantial moisture throughout the day if you’re applying it twice daily.

My skin felt a ton healthier with the extra moisture and hydration.

Long Term Results

The longer I used Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Firming Butter the better the results were.

My skin started to firm up some and it looked and felt better.

The texture and tone were more evened out and my cellulite was a little less noticeable.

Ingredients

There’s quite a lot going on in the ingredients department with Palmer’s Firming Butter.

I like a lot of the ingredients but let’s take a quick peak at some of the more beneficial ones.

Shea Butter acts as a deep moisturizer that penetrates dry skin and leaves it feeling soft and vibrant.

Collagen and Elastin are a dynamic duo that helps improve skin’s elasticity and firmness, leading to an overall improvement of skin tone, appearance, and suppleness.

Cocoa Butter is a rich, natural moisturizer that leaves your skin feeling silky smooth and hydrated.

Vitamin E is a natural, yet powerful antioxidant that works to improve the look of stretch marks, scars, and uneven skin tone by nurturing the skin and evening out the overall appearance.

Co Enzyme Q10 is another antioxidant that also helps rejuvenate skin and smooth out skin tone.

Price

The Cocoa Butter Formula Firming Butter is available on the Palmer’s website.

It’s only $7.50 for a 10.6 fluid ounce bottle.

That works out to only 70 cents per ounce.

This might be the absolute least expensive cellulite product I’ve tried so far!

And for being so cheap, it’s a surprisingly good value.

Guarantee

Palmer’s offers a return policy on their website.

They state if you’re not completely satisfied, you can return the product for a full refund of the purchase price.
